week 23, READING WEEK, JEWELLERY ELECTIVE

This week was my jewellery elective, i was dreading 9-5 everyday but i didnt even notice it being that long. the days went so fast and as we only had 4 of them we really had to get our arses in gear! i dont think ive ever done more work in 1 week in my life. managed to finished a little sketchbook and get all the samples and final pieces done. our group worked well, i only knew people from fashion but as soon as we got going people were nosey and wanted to see other peoples work so we got chatting. our tutor for the week, Nora, was patient with us and helpful even though we didnt have a technician and our group was over enrolled.

Really enjoyed doing it though, ive always loved making jewellery or just fiddling with bits of metal so this was a fun week for me. Wasnt so good at the metal work, but found some perspex and really enjoyed playing around with the bright coloured plastics and trying to create some original pieces. my most successful pieces were a resin ring, and 2 braclets made up of words. i think even inhaling the resin fumes was worth it!
