This week was frustrating.
In Creative approaches to fashion we used an image from ur artist's research, i used a photo of a Lucy Orta creation. I found the image i chose difficult to use as the basis of it was already a fairly humanoid shape.

We had to take apart the image and use shapes from it to put onto a drawing of a person. I found it frustrating as the shapes we used didn't neccessarily have to create an outift, and it was just different from the way i normally work. My work was all very illustartive so i think i need to work in less detail. I lost patience with it as we did the same thing all day and i couldnt get out of my way of working!
Friday was Creative design realisation and we got let loose on the industrail sewing machines to create seams and use the overlocker. It was the first time i'd used an overlocker.. i dont think i managed to sew a straight line all day!
Was good to use new machines but found seams frustrating as mine never seemed to match the examples?! My machine kept breaking and un-threading itself, but hugo and lynne (?) were very patient and helpful so they helped me. I eventually managed to create some accurate seams so feel i learnt something from that day.
