This week saw more design sheest come from my workshop research ( urban fashion/sportswear and designer diffusion) and has helped my research progress into a direction i have never explored before. the introduction of unnusual fabrics into clothing, such as pvc which i have never considered working with before. although, i will msot likely never use it again as i nearly broke my sewing machine trying to sew it!
Really got going on design sheets this week, altering my favourite design slightly and i also made samples using the sports based fabrics i bought. as i used quilting as a major influence from the urban sports research i wanted to create my own, so i bought medium and thick inter lining to experiment with and rip-stop nylon. the sample of quilting worked very well but making your own quilting is very time consuming! the sampels assisted in my design development sheets aswell, which i need to remember as i dont normally make many samples. this i something i need to improve on and am definately glad i did! i think watching the 3rd years work helped me to actually test things before i just dive straight in and try and make something. below are photos of my little sample (the weird mouthpiece?!) and the shoulder/hood sample. these samples helped me to see how the fabric hangs, or if it hangs, and how sturdy it is on its own.

Helped my 3rd year with button holes, labels and random little bits and pieces this week. sally doesnt really have much for me to do as shes insanely organised and up to date with stuff! helped with photoshoots etc for the 3rd years this week and sorted out some models for them. i think the 3rd years forget we dont have a huge deadline like they do, we can be calm for them!
