FINALLY chose my final garment.
i decided to just start making the section of the coat i knew i wanted, which was the bodice and the skirt. the shoulders i knew i wanted aswell it was just a matter of editting out the hood (as this wouldve just been too much) and decideding whether or not i wanted a collar. after much umm-ing and ahh-ing i got rid of the stand-up collar and just did a mini lapel style thing, and got rid of the hood aswell. by deciding as i was making it was easier for me to fully see what would look best.
its about 5 days til the deadline and i just began cutting out my pattern pieces. for some reason without that added bit of pressure i cant make a garment! quilting took SO long for this project and i went through 2 sewing machines ha. good job ive got a spare one up here! so a few broken needles, about 12 bobbins later and my quilting is completed!! im quite proud of the effect it has produced.. even though it sort of looks like a ninja turtle costume?! i think when its all put together itll be fine! fingers crossed anyway..!

Need to remember to do the illustration after my garment is finished otherwise that would be a disaster! i got a couple of books out from the library for inspiration as its been so long since ive done any! i got a variety one with lots of artists in, although alot of it seems to be textiles based which im not a fan of, and the other was a Dawn Mellor book which ive wanted for ages and randomly found the other day. lots of nice zombie influences and sarcasm, perfect!
